Its official.. We have been requested to prepare 115 seats for Principal, Headmasters/Headmistress and Robotics teacher’s for a 2 hour briefing on the Robotics Programme runned by the Malaysian Ministry of Education. Sasbadi Sdn Bhd has been entrusted to conduct this briefing although according to experienced MJrobotic’s team advisor, Mdm Welcymina Wahab, this is the first time such briefing would be conducted by both the ministry and Sasbadi. Details on the event are as follows:

On another note, Sting Mayers (4T) has been selected as the replacement of Amanina whom is expected to leave for MRSM after the Chinese New Year’s holidays. Nonetheless, he has not been briefed about his participation, and his selection is still pending reviews and feedback from the core team of MJrobotics as well as other team advisors.

The team has also finalized the Sponsorship Proposal, and letters requesting for sponsorship has been printed to be sent out to possible sponsors after th Chinese New Year holidays. It is hoped that we would get some positive feedbacks as soon as possible. Also to note is the launching of WWW.MJROBOTICS.COM has been delayed to 14February2008 (Wednesday). This is to enable the principle to personally officiate this site.

Anyway, tomorrow, the second team meeting would be held. Details are as follows:
Venue: Computer Lab

The core team is therefore requested to come at 2:15pm as there would be a brief meeting with the team advisors.  See you there…

Rumors…

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

Rumors has it that SMK Matang Jaya, Kuching will again host this year’s National Robotics Competition (NRC) Zone L. It has been that way since the past 4 years, and we guess the tradition is set to continue this year.

There is also a huge rumor that the competition will be held earlier, which would eventually put our team into an overdrive. Thankfully, this year, we are prepared with new members, and look forward to getting our hands dirty to bring back at least a medal from the competition.

The team has also been informed that they will be loosing Amanina which was selected to SM Sains, Kuching… so a huge congratulations is forwarded to her. We do anticipate someone as a replacement, but that will only be done by next week. Do visit for the latest news on MJrobotics.

p/s.. we are still looking for sponsors.. anyone interested to help??

And There Was 15

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

Here’s a short news on yesterday’s meeting.

The team has been finalized.  It is official that no Form One students can’t be brought into the team due to the limitation of LEGO sets.  Its kind of sad, but its what we call ‘LIMITATIONS‘.

The final decision is that the team would be represented by 4 Open Category teams, while only 1 NXT team.  There was 3 major pull-outs from those selected, and the final list of members whould be updated really soon.

The LEGO sets owned by MJrobotics have also been shifted to the ICT Server Room to provide better security and control over the robotics equipment.

There was a short meeting involving the core team and Mr Cyril Dason.  Discussions included the official launching of the this site, and also sponsorship.  Anyway.. we are pleased with the way things are moving, and we hope to secure some sponsorships in the next few months.  In addition to that, we are looking forward to launch this website/weblog.

Think thats all for today.  More updates to come really soon.  After all, we are getting ready to officially launch this site!!
